Feeding a one month old baby bird

The essential part of per parenting is feeding your pet right. Feeding as in you have to make sure that your bird gets the right nutrition in the right amount. Baby parrots are so fragile that you should feed them with an adult parrot diet. I'm writing this because when I bought in a new baby parrot I searched all over the net for the right diet but in vain. I didn't want to experiment on my bird with all those tinned foods available in the market. So, I finally found out a good diet for my bird (mellow that's how I call her).
Baby parrots diet should be in a liquid state. So I recommend roasted gram flour aka pottukadalai maavu in tamil.
1. Take some roasted gram with sone millets and powder it using a mixer
PS: make sure that it's not way to powdery, it should be in a little grainy state.
2. Mix this powder with some water.
PS: Not a cake batter consistency, it should be in a more liquidated form.
3. Use a syringe or an ink filler (preferably a syringe) to feed your parrot.
4. Most important: before feeding your parrot give him/her a half a syringe of water and don't forget to repeat the same after the meal.
PS: this whole water stuff is to make sure that the food gets into the bird's system easily avoiding any chocking.

PS: I will keep you posted on more essential tips about growing your baby bird.

Happy pet parenting 😄 bubye 👋

Pet facts

  • Controlling the temperature in your dwarf hamster’s room can ensure she has more male or female babies. Warmer temps lead to more boys, while cooler temps will result in more girls.
  • Contrary to popular belief, dogs do not sweat by salivating. They sweat through the pads of their feet
  • A cat will almost never meow at another cat. Cats use this sound for humans

Birds tangled in threads

Okay!!! Why I'm writing this is because it just happened to my pet parakeet today :( I happened to wrap my parakeet <"NEMO! Okay she's a parakeet not a fish :P"> with a dry towel after bathing her. I didn't notice that there were some uncut threads in it and so those threads got tangled in her tiny tiny legs. :( Usually untying these tangles are tiresome process <"which i managed to do somehow">.

When these situations arise we have to act with care. Cuz, these birds do get tensed like we humans do, so they start acting in their own way thereby messing it up. So, I've decided to put up these steps which U can follow when U find yourself and your pet in this situation

  1. Your bird is probably freaked out so calm down your bird first.
  2. Cover your bird's face first, usually with fine towel, cuz once their eyes are covered like its dark around them they tend to stay calm, this makes your business easy.
  3. Step 2 doesn't mean that cover your bird and let it suffer for oxygen to breathe!!! use a thin towel make sure your bird can breathe while you hold your bird firmly.
  4. Make sure you have enough light source around U so that U can see the thread clearly.
  5. Slowly start untying the tangle
  6. Make sure you don't pull the string so hard cuz your bird's legs are so fragile that even a soft thread may cut it
  7. If your done with this leave ur bird he/she is fine :)
  8. If not go to step one :)
Have a nice day !!! :D

Did U Know? Pet facts!!!

  1. Dogs have about 100 different facial expressions, most of them made with the ears.
  2. Cats have five toes on each front paw, but only four toes on each back paw!!!
  3. Like human beings have their own unique finger prints, dogs do have their own unique prints!!! The only difference is they have unique NOSE PRINT :D

Gifting a pet!!!

Gifts!!! gifts!!! gifts!!! gifts everywhere!!! When it comes to gifting someone may it be a birthday or an anniversary... or may it be a surprise visit gift!!! Lots of ideas pop in our mind <"pssttt... depending on our budget though"> HaHa :D Some people prefer normal (non-living things) as gifts whereas Some geniuses <"No names in particular!!!"> get extra-ordinary ideas and gift adorable living things <"PETS">

I would say that this fashion of gifting our beloved animal friends has been followed from movies where the hero would gift his beloved girlfriend with a puppy and tada!!! love blossoms.... Only to find that they would have almost forgotten the poor puppy :'( !!! Now! that there's adoption drives everywhere.. People tend to adopt a pet and give that as gift to their <"LOVED"> ones :P

Okay!!! Lets not brag about the movies anymore... Coming to the point!!! In the first place gifting a pet would look sooo cute initially but as days go on the one who received the pet <"who actually had no idea about pets in the first place"> would start turning bored of their pet... cuz!!! they didn't expect it at all... They may have the pet for few days or weeks but as time passes they may not like it for the following reasons:
  1. They may be allergic to pets
  2. Someone at home maybe allergic to pets
  3. Maybe there's a baby at home
  4. Maybe they have no time for pets
  5. Maybe they are not allowed to have pet at their apartment
  6. Or maybe they don't like U in the first place <" U are an unwanted guest"> :P
  7. Ummm!!!! Go to point No.1
Now more or less closer to the above mentioned reasons at some point of time they will abandon the pet on the road or maybe at an animal shelter <"the reason they tell U is THE PET RAN AWAY!! :'(  but the poor thing wouldn't have known whats going on around them">

So, ultimately what I'm trying to tell via this lengthyyyyy post is that... Please don't gift any animals because if someone wants a pet they would go adopt by themselves and they wouldn't wait for someone to gift them one.. Boys!! it may look very cute and adorable to watch ur girlfriend say AWWWW <3 looking at a puppy but she wouldn't want to grow one!! So try and think of some other nice gifts <"perhaps, U can try gifting her some nice shiny lip gloss or eyeliners :D">

Dogs & Travel

So what's better than going on vacation? Going on vacation and taking your dog with you! In order to have the most fun when travelling with your dog, there are a few things you should take care of ahead of time.

One of the most important things to do before travelling with your dog is to make sure he is up to date on all his vaccinations. If you're travelling internationally, you may have to obtain a certificate of health from your veterinarian, but for trips that are closer to home, it's still a great idea to make sure your dog is protected from any diseases you may encounter along the way.

Before it's time to step on to a cruise ship for a few days or climb on to a plane for a few hours, you should make sure your dog is accustomed to his travel crate or bag. If your dog feels at home in his crate or bag, he should have no trouble adjusting to his travelling circumstances, no matter what they are. If you're lucky, he'll curl up and fall asleep for most of the ride.

Decide in advance what items your dog will need for the trip. Some basic things you should have with you when travelling with your dog, include food, water, a collar, his leash, some treats, a pooper scooper, and a small first aid kit. It's also a great idea to bring a picture of your pup, in case he gets lost.

During your trip, it's very important that your dog gets the opportunity to relieve himself whenever possible. He shouldn't be deprived of water or food. Be respectful of other people and places by cleaning up after your dog and keeping him leashed.

If you're travelling in a car in the summertime, make every effort to never leave your dog in the car. If you must leave him there for a short period time, make sure the windows are open to provide some ventilation. Once you're on the move again, either close the windows or keep your dog in his crate to prevent possible injury to his eyes or ears.

By preparing yourself and your dog ahead of time, taking a vacation together can go off without a hitch. And don't forget to have fun with your dog and enjoy the time together!
